I'm Lucky Mahlasela, founder of Branch of Righteousness. For more than thirty years I've walked a contemplative Christian journey — one that grew into my own pursuit of a deeper walk with Christ, and now into this ministry.
Beyond the Veil: Entering the Mysteries of God is the written form of that pursuit, and this community exists to walk it out together, one honest week at a time.

Our teaching and discussion follow the arc of this book — from the six foundations, through the witness of the Desert Fathers and medieval mystics, into daily practice, the dark night of purification, and mystical union with God.
It is not a detour from Christ, but a fuller entrance into the reality every believer has already received in Him. Ordinary believers, in ordinary places, pursuing an extraordinary, ordinary walk with Christ.
We test every experience by Scripture, and hold it in love, humility, and obedience — drawing also on the witness of the wider Church across the centuries.

Each month we sit with one theme from the cycle a little longer — a fuller written teaching to read slowly, alongside the weekly reflections.
Hebrews lists baptisms — plural — as a foundation, not a footnote. The writer isn't only pointing to the single act of water baptism, but to a whole doctrine of washings and identifications that run through Scripture: the cleansing rites of the Old Covenant, John's baptism of repentance, and the baptism into Christ's death and resurrection that Paul describes in Romans 6.
The early Church treated this with a weight we've often lost. Candidates were prepared for months before baptism, examined for genuine repentance, and welcomed into the water as into a kind of death — because that is exactly what Paul says it is. Cyril of Jerusalem, instructing new believers in the fourth century, told them plainly: you did not merely wash, you were buried and raised, in symbol and in truth.
This month we sit with that weight: not baptism as a formality to complete, but as the ongoing reality of a life that has already died with Christ, and lives now identified with Him alone.
